Security & Confidentiality
The FMR Survey Tool uses multiple controls to protect accounts and research information.
Passwords are stored using secure one-way hashing and are never displayed in plain text after account creation.
Sensitive database actions should use prepared statements and validated numeric identifiers.
Uploads should be restricted by MIME type, file extension, size, randomized filename, and storage rules that prevent execution.
The organization using the account retains ownership of its survey data, subject to its agreement and applicable laws.
Access is controlled by company membership, user role, survey ownership, and permissions.
Use limited roles, strong passwords, verified accounts, secure links, minimal collection of personal data, and documented retention practices.
No online system can honestly guarantee absolute immunity. Security requires continuous updates, backups, access monitoring, server hardening, and prompt patching.
